I am proud to share a transcript of my closing statement from my debate with Greg Vitali. These are words I will stand by as your representative.
Candidate Debate – Closing Statement
“I want to thank the League of Women Voters for allowing us to have this forum, it was very informative. I want to thank Jamie for being the moderator and Greg again, for a civil debate, which is the way it should be. I hope we set an example for future debates.
In closing. I just want to say that one of the reasons that I ran is because I had an issue that was important to me. I said if I’m not doing it, then who is going to do it?
Greg has been our state representative for 27, almost 28, years at this point. I think that it is time for a change in Harrisburg. I think the people of the district, and the more and more I speak with the people of the district, people want a change. They want somebody who is going to listen to all of the issues that they have, and fight for them in Harrisburg.
I don’t think that Harrisburg has been working well. I think that there is a disconnect up there. It is gridlock. No bill gets through unless it is sponsored by one party versus another party, and that’s not how it should be.
As your representative, I’ll work for the Democrats in the district, the Republicans in the district, and the independents in the district. I’m not running on the platform of one sole issue. I am running for the residents. And I want to help you and I want to be there. Whether it’s an issue you’ re having with traffic on your street or it’s an issue with electricity on your street, I want to hear it and I want to be able to help you. I promise if I can’t help you, I’ll at least get you the answers as to what the holdback is or what the issue is.
In my years, I have been a practicing attorney for over 30 years now. I’ve been an advocate for my clients. Whether it was with the criminal defense clients or my current clients, I advocate for them and I promise that I will advocate for you as your state representative.
I look forward to November 3rd, and I wish everybody good luck in the election.”
